I guess I could go on and on about how perfect the movie and the song are but my main point is Taylor is unbelievably amazing for making a song that is perfectly filled with the emotions captured in the movie, and that is such a wonderful talent.“Blade of the Immortal,” however, is no such masterpiece. Those two songs are just a perfect combo. And following that up with DBATC is like her living that fear-that heartbreak. Because Cornelia Street is like admitting that fear that if you lose that someone, you'll never be able to go back to the places, things and moments you once shared because it just brings up so many memories. And that made me realize how perfect it is that Cornelia Street is followed by DBATC.
And can I just say? I definitely got Cornelia Street flashbacks when watching that movie, too. The song is now tied with Cornelia Street as my favorite from the album. And the production of the song just became even more perfect in a way that I could totally imagine it being part of the movie's soundtrack. It truly amazed me how Taylor perfectly captured the emotions the main character was in. And watching that movie whilst thinking of DBATC just amazed me and made me feel all kinds of feelings. When I heard that Taylor wrote this song after watching the movie Someone Great, I just HAD to watch it. But after a couple more listens, it quickly reached its way into my Top 5. And when I first heard DBATC, I very much liked it- the production was a lot to take in and made it a bit difficult to focus on the lyrics. I didn't know this movie before the album came out.
